Filters
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR IE6 USERS:
We apologies to all IE6 users but Filters are not available when using this browser. During development, we were unable find a solution supported by IE6.
In order to use filters, you may download Firefox Portable here:
http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable. It should work from your desktop, your documents folder or from a USB drive/stick.
Google Chrome may also be downloaded but you may have to ask your IT department to install the Google Chrome Frame plugin for IE6(-8). It can be found here:
http://code.google.com/chrome/chromeframe/
It should be possible to install this without having admin rights in the near future but admin rights are needed just now.
In order to continue to improve Embase and deliver the features requested by users, we are considering the phasing out of support for IE6. This means we may not test new features in IE6 anymore (so we can’t guarantee that the site will still work in IE6 after this time) but we would like to work with all our IE6 users to ensure minimum disruption. IE6 is no longer supported by Microsoft and so as in the case of filters, we may be unable to find work-arounds or fixes. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
Embase supported browsers may also be reviewed.
Refine your search using filters (in all browsers apart from IE6)
Clustered results for Journal Titles, Publication Types and Publication Years appear on the left hand side of the Session Results screen. You may click on any filter to investigate terms for refining your search. Click on More to see more terms. You may select any number of items from the same filter or several items from different filters and click on Filter to apply to your search. Keep track of which filters you have used in the Currently active filter section at the top of the filters. You may remove filters by clicking on the filter to be removed in the Currently active filter and Filter.
Please note: Items from the same filter will be added to your search with OR and items from different filters will be added to your search with AND.
