This option allows you to limit retrieval to records with animals as study subjects, or as the source of studied tissue, cells, or cell components. The following will be added to your search when you select this limit:

- The animal limit is available from all advanced search forms (Advanced, Drug and Disease) under Quick Limits. Specific animal study types may be added to your search by going to Advanced Limits (again on all advanced search forms) and selecting from Animal Cell, Animal Experiment, Animal Model and/or Animal Tissue.
- The animal limit was extended to include all animal species in 2011 and all records in Embase were updated accordingly.
